When to choose biorevitalization?
Biorevitalization may be considered for patients seeking improved skin hydration, depending on individual skin condition and medical history.
For younger age (25-35 years) patients, the procedure is perfectly suitable for preventive care: early aging sign prevention, skin tone maintenance, protection from unfavorable environmental factors.
For older age (35+ years) individuals, biorevitalization is used as corrective care: improves skin hydration and may soften the appearance of fine lines.
Procedure also helps solve specific skin problems: restore skin after intensive sun exposure, after stress or insomnia periods, moisturize dry skin, may contribute to overall skin radiance, though pigment and scar correction usually requires additional targeted treatments.
Preparation for biorevitalization procedure
Week before the procedure:
- Blood-thinning preparations such as aspirin, fish oils, or ginkgo biloba extract should be avoided.
- Three days before the procedure, it is worth abstaining from alcohol as it dilates blood vessels and increases bruising risk.
- On procedure day, it is advisable not to perform intensive physical training and to arrive at the clinic without makeup, with clean skin.
Biorevitalization procedure
Biorevitalization procedure begins with a dermatologist consultation when a doctor assesses skin condition, discusses patient expectations, and selects an appropriate hyaluronic acid product approved for intradermal use. Then skin is cleaned with special antiseptic, and when necessary, numbed with anesthetic cream.
For injections, dermatologist can choose one of several methods: point technique (separate injections in problem zones), linear technique (injections along wrinkles), papular technique (formation of small preparation "bumps"), micropapular technique (series of many microinjections), or "nappage" technique (superficial injections across entire face).
After completing injections, skin is cleaned, soothing mask is applied, and in some cases, light lymphatic drainage massage is performed, helping evenly distribute preparation and reduce swelling.
After biorevitalization procedure
Although biorevitalization is considered a safe procedure, certain temporary side effects are possible. Most commonly, patients experience slight redness, swelling, and itching at injection sites, which usually disappear within 24-48 hours. During the procedure, small papules may form at puncture sites, resembling insect bites – they disappear within 1-3 days. Sometimes hematomas (bruises) appear, especially if the needle damages small blood vessels; they may persist for up to 7-10 days.
After facial biorevitalization procedure, touching face with dirty hands or using aggressive cosmetic products (scrubs, acidic products) should be avoided. First 24-48 hours, face cannot be washed with hot water – only cool or lukewarm. Avoid makeup, especially powder foundation, for 1-2 days after the procedure as this can clog pores and interfere with natural healing. First week after the procedure, intensive exercise is not advisable as increased blood flow and sweating can cause additional swelling and redness. It is essential to avoid sauna, steam room, pool, tanning bed, and direct sun rays for 3-7 days. It is also advisable to avoid consuming alcohol and performing facial massage procedures.
